This show was originally scheduled for Friday the 13th but they pushed it back one day to
the 12th a bit before the show. It's really too bad too because I could have come up with
a better title if the original date had stuck :-)
A beautiful day to start out and quite windy as well. I had seen Rog in September at the
ACC in Toronto and was expecting relativly the same show... I was in for a treat! The songs
were the same but the stage show and visuals were unbelievable. The spinny prism was truly
jaw dropping and the band was tight! After the show was over it started to rain and
lightning heavily. Pretty cool!
Everything went well except for a few assholes behind me who were shouting for me and my
friends to sit the fuck down!!!. Of course everyone was standing for the whole show to
the songs they knew until Rog started playing some of his solo stuff like Perfect Sense for
expample. Then most people around me started to sit down, prolly cause they didn't know the
songs. Then we got shit thrown at us and were told repeatedly to sit the fuck down!!!,
like we were in a flashback of Floyd at Ivor Wynne in '75.
It's ok for some people to stand to all the songs they know but when it comes to the
ones they don't, they DECIDE to sit down and then it's NOT ok for others to stand and enjoy
the show the way they were? Then these freaks will proceed to stand back up only to the
popular songs they do know. So, I should be forced to sit down because the people behind me
don't know the songs and DECIDED to sit down? Am I out of line here?
Anyway, I didn't let it ruin my enjoyment of the show but it did irritate me. I bet some
others had the same experience as we did, sad to say. I hate drunken asshole wannabe fans!
Excuse the rant but I just don't get people sometimes.
The recording itself it pretty good but could have been better if I had paid attention to
my meters during the show. I pretty much used the set it and forget it philosophy that
day and as a result there is a lot of clipping but nothing that ruins the recording in my
opinion. I tried to attenuate it the best I could without compromising the sound quality.
